Import & Export lives under Tools. Use it when moving Red Light between devices, or backing up before a reset. There are three separate pairs — they do not replace each other. Pick the one that matches what you need.

Default folder
Set a default backup folder under Settings > General > Import & Export. File browsers open there. After an export, Red Light may ask whether to remember the folder you just used.

1) Red Light Settings (.zip)
  - Export Red Light Settings / Import Red Light Settings
  - Backs up settings, menus, personal/discover lists, episode groups, and custom list images.
  - Does NOT include Red Light Favourites, watch history stored on this device, or Kodi Favourites — use the options below for those.
  - The zip can contain API keys, Debrid Accounts tokens, and other account logins. Keep it private.
  - After import, check folder paths if you changed device or OS, and that your scraper package is still installed.
  - Meta Accounts that use authorisation (MDBList, PunchPlay, Simkl, TMDb Lists, Trakt, WeTrakr) may need re-authorising if sync or scrobble fails. API-key metas (Google, Groq, OMDb, RPDb, etc.) usually travel with the settings and just work.

2) Red Light Favourites & History (.json)
  - Export / Import Red Light Favourites & History
  - Favourites: Red Light's own Favourites lists (Movies / TV / Anime / People).
  - History: watched ticks and in-progress resume points stored on this device — only when Watched Status Provider is Red Light. If Watched Status Provider is MDBList, PunchPlay, Simkl, Trakt, or WeTrakr, watch history is not included in this backup (that data lives on the service).
  - Import mode when this device already has data:
      - Merge — add from the backup; keep what is already here.
      - Replace — clear local favourites/history first, then import the backup.

3) Kodi Favourites (.xml)
  - Export / Import Kodi Favourites
  - Backs up Kodi's own Favourites.xml for this profile (skin/home Favourites), not Red Light Favourites.
  - Kodi favourites usually only work with the add-on that created them.
  - Import also offers Merge or Replace. Replace saves a copy of your current Favourites.xml as Favourites.xml.redlight.bak first.
  - Restart Kodi if the Favourites menu does not update after import.

Typical full move
Export Settings, then Favourites & History (if Watched Status Provider is Red Light), then Kodi Favourites if you use them. On the new device, import in the same order. Re-authorise Meta Accounts if needed, and fix any download/media paths.
